Yes I'm starting off about lousy weather again. The Seattle Times headline 6/11/08. Colder than Siberia...Seattle has been in the low 50's, even Fairbanks, Alaska and Siberia were in the mid 60's. Another commentator asked if there really was global warming he wanted some of it to come our way. The sun finally started showing itself yesterday about noon. We even had a sunny day today. The weather forecast is more rain Tuesday. Hopefully just a little.
Monday we had FHE with the Mission President and the senior missionaries. FYI for those of you wanting to go on a mission when you grow up. Here's a few of the missions being served here in the Everett Mission. Mission Home office support. Proselyting. Housing review (they check on the housing, if it's adequate and if the missionaries are taking care of it, and so on) and campground caretakers. And that's just what we currently have.
We went to the Seattle Temple Wednesday, followed by a trip to the nearest Carls Jr. It was only 30 minutes out of the way but worth every minute....mmm it was really good. A couple that came in and saw our badges, did a double take then came and told us how great the church was during the floods last December. They couldn't believe how organized and the work that was done. Those Mormons even cleaned up another faith's chapel so they could attend church. We had a nice conversation with them...where was a pass along card, we instead exchanged business cards. We need to be better prepared.
Saturday was a big work day. Mt. Vernon father and sons worked about an hour, but the power of more than 100, and most in the 10 year age group. They painted an amphitheater and a stretch of fence. Lots of wood cut and split, miles of brush cut, tables moved and trees trimmed by others. We had a great turn out and sunshine in the same day
Just one or two days of sunshine erases most of the gloomy memories. Hopefully no flashbacks.

I remember doing those service projects as a kid. There's nothing quite like the smell of tree sap, chain saw exhaust and bon fire. I wish they had stuff like that here for our families to participate in.
uggg, that sounds just too cold for me. sending some of this Texas heat your way! warm up a little :)
I love the fact that our church cleaned up for another church! Mormons are soooo awesome! I am so proud of you guys! I would love some of that rain here! 104 yesterday!!!
Love, Jen
