Saturdays

Saturdays are usually busy. This is the day most volunteers come out to work at the camp. We really have a push on now to get the bathroom completed. The park has not had flush toilets for campers in over a decade. At our monthly council meeting May 1st the urgency was felt and our leader Pres. Bastain asked that all the representatives push to get members out to finish this thing up. Several did show today, along with Pres. Bastain. He's not alot of talk, he has come out and helped several times since I have been at the park. Kudos to him.

I helped paint the trim, until I was going to be in the way and then went out to our vegetable garden. This is also a work in progress. Did I forget to mention....of course it rained all day, more of a mist, but all day. I got a bit cold and wanted a hot tubby. I called my daughter Jodie who happenes to live 20 miles from camp and offered to baby sit and use her big, luxurious bathtub. Needless to say my 29 ft home doesn't have one. Larry and I took our grandkids Jenna & Jake to the nearest Mc Donalds and then an hour of hot water for me. I can survive the rain for a few days now.

Good to hear that you do get a brief reprieve from the manual labor. Sounds like an adventure.
